On Valentine's Day the children at Good as Gold sent love to the children of Turkey displaced by the earthquake.  They made a heart of coins which were donated to charity.

God Save the Queen!

Today we crowned our Queen who the presented all the children with a commemorative medal, honouring them as a member of our little Good as Gold family.  After listening to The National Anthem, the children marched to the band music and had an amazing time!

We planted some rhubarb in Spring and have been watching it grow bigger and bigger!  Today we decided it was time to pick our rhubarb!  We very carefully cut it up, and our cook made it into a delicious rhubarb and ginger cake.

Today we wore pink and raised £107 for Cancer Research in loving memory of our colleague Natalie Bridge who lost her battle with cancer in October 2007.

Today our children came to nursery in their pyjamas for an activity filled session learning about night and day!  The children made star collages, listened to betime stories, learnt about numbers whilst putting 10 teddies into bed and sang twinkle twinkle!  The food was also themed with star and moon pie, night sky mousse, sunshine pasta and sleeping baby buns.  It was a very comfy day!!

Today we said a tearful farewell to our children leaving us for school in September.  We will miss you all, you are amazing!

We didn't let the rain spoil our beach party with cocktails at the tiki bar, a limbo competition, beach volleyball and singing arund the campfire!  We had a picnic for lunch with a beach bbq for tea with toasted s'mores!

Today we took our teddies to the park for  Teddy Bear's picnic!  We mae our own sandwiches and had teddy bear crisps and teddy bear biscuits!  We went on a bear hunt in the woods and found lots of bears!!!

Today we learnt about the celebration of Eid by listening to a story about Hassan and Aneesa.  We dressed up in clothes like theirs and learnt to say Eid Mubarak, Happy Eid.  We also had our hands painted with Mhendi.  For tea we had an indian sharing platter, and at the end of the day took home an Eid money wallet filled with chocolate coins.

Today we celebrated the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by holding our very own wedding!  The congregation of our chapel watched as the friendship ceremony took place, and this was followed by the photographs.  The children helped themselves to the buffet and toasted the couple after the cake had been cut.  The "Night Do" took place in the afternoon with a disco and the all important first dance!  This was followed by a pie and pea supper before the happy couple set off on their honeymoon!  Hopefully this was a memorable day for our children to mark this auspicious occasion.

Today we celebrated Saint George's Day!The children acted out the story of the legend of Saint George, and joined in with traditional English activities including going to the chippy and having a picnic in the park.

The new park in Waterfoot has been a big hit with the children this week!  We anticipate lots of visits in the future as the children didn't want to come home!  Other park users commented on how well behaved our children were.  Just what I like to hear!!
